Tigers return home after T20 World Cup failure

The Bangladesh national cricket team returned home on Monday night following a disappointing T20 World Cup tournament, despite it being their so far best performance till date.

Nevertheless, the tournament was seen unsuccessful given that Bangladesh had nearly defeated sub-continent giants Pakistan and India but were unable to deliver the decisive performance on both events.

However, they might have had a possibility if they had been fortunate in a couple of games. During their match against India, after the rain break, they needed to score 85 runs off 54 balls while holding 10 wickets, a total that most teams might reach on any given day. Unfortunately, nervousness and inexperience got the best of them, and they failed by 5 runs, according to skipper Shakib Al Hasan.

India star player Virat Kohli’s fake throw before the rain break was brought into the light by Bangladesh vice-captain Nurul Hasan Sohan, that, according to him, should give Bangladesh the five penalty runs, but didn’t get much attention.

In the other hand against Pakistan, Bangladesh were on course of a good total on slow pitch but unfair dismissal of Shakib Al Hasan ruined the momentum and Bangladesh eventually lost the game by five wickets.

Two victories against Netherlands and Zimbabwe also came up with lot of hardship.

Apart from captain Shakib, vice-captain Sohan and allrounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz, all of the players returned home. Shakib went to USA to spend time with his family while the other two players stayed in Australia.
