Mumbai: FIR against Rakhi Sawant and her lawyer for sexual harassment and defamation

The Amboli Police on Tuesday registered an FIR against actor Rakhi Sawant and her advocate Falguni Brahmbhatt allegedly for sexual harassment and defamation.

As per the police, the complainant has alleged that the two had shown an objectionable video of Sherlyn Chopra during a press conference and used objectionable language.

Reportedly, the incident took place after actor Sherlyn Chopra made statements against filmmaker Sajid Khan, in regard to his participation in Salman Khan’s reality TV show – Bigg Boss. Chopra, along with nine others, had previously accused the filmmaker of sexually harassing them, amid the #MeToo controversy in 2018.

Talking to FPJ, DCP (Zone IX) Manjunath Singe said, “We are currently verifying and investigating the matter. There is also a cross FIR against Sherlyn Chopra made by Rakhi Sawant and her advocate at the Oshiwara police station. In order to bring clarity, we will first verify the version and facts, along with shreds of evidence. Only then anything concrete can be said regarding the case, especially about the arrests.”

“I am really sad to say that due to the comments made by her about me there has been turmoil in my life. Because of her, my recent boyfriend has asked me ‘whether there is any truth in what Sherlyn is saying’, do I really have 10 boyfriends’. She just came and said whatever she wanted to in the media and now I have to pay for it,” she said.

While interacting with the media, Rakhi and her lawyer even played alleged videos of Sherlyn.
