The Ganga-Jamuna Cultural Festival 2021 from today

The cultural arena has reawakened after the Corona epidemic. In the meantime, new Drama have been staged on different stages. After a long break in that series, the ‘12-day Ganga-Jamuna Drama and  cultural festival’ is starting from today, Friday. Shilpakala Academy is being featured in the festival.

This year’s festival is dedicated to the memory of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of independence.

Theater, Street drama, mime, dance, music recitation, dance, Dhamail song, Gambhira, Baul song and many other arrangements have been arranged for this year’s festival.However, there is no presence of any Indian cultural group in this festival.

The inaugural ceremony will begin with the national anthem. Apart from staging plays at 7 pm every day, various cultural activities including dance, song and recitation will be held on the open stage from 4 pm.

Sujoy Shyam, a legendary music composer and Freedom Fighter will inaugurate the festival at 5:30 pm organized by Ganga-Jamuna Cultural Festival Board. State Minister for Culture KM Khalid will be the chief guest. The inaugural function will be presided over by Golam Qudduch, the convener of the festival board.

According to the organizers of the festival, about three and a half thousand artists from 140 groups are taking part in this year’s festival. The daily programs of the festival will be held simultaneously on five stages of the academy. This year’s festival will end on October 12.
