Emmy Predictions
First Winner Projections in Major Categories With ‘Succession’ and ‘Ted Lasso’ Leading the Way
The day after the Emmys announced its nominees where HBO’s “Succession” led the field with 27 nominations including drama series, and tying its own record for the most acting nominations in a single year with 14.
The top three leading shows came from HBO including “The Last of Us” and “The White Lotus.”
On the comedy side, Apple’s “Ted Lasso” showed up strong with a whopping 21 nominations. It was one nom short of tying the record for most nominations for a comedy show, currently held by “30 Rock.” With ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” missing out on a vital writing nom, it’ll be difficult for it to cross the finish line. The last comedy series to win without a writing nom was “Friends” back in 2002.
The limited series races seem down to two Netflix shows — “Beef” and “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.”
