Instructions to return the seized evidence of Porimoni

The court has ordered to return the  16 items of her possessions seized as evidence during a raid at her home including her car, cellphone and laptop

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Satyabrata Sikder passed the order on Tuesday.

This information has been known from the general registration branch of the concerned police station of the court.

On September 15, lawyer Nilanjana Rifat Sauravi filed a petition in the court seeking the return of a white car used by her, a mobile phone and other confiscated items including a laptop.

Following the application, the judge directed the investigating officer to submit a report from BRTA on verification of proper ownership of the vehicle and other seized evidence.

Later, CID inspector Kazi Mostafa Kamal, who is investigating the case, submitted a report to the court recommending the return of the evidence to the Porimoni.

Porimani appeared in court on Tuesday to get back all the seized evidence.

Among the 16 items seized from the actress were: Harrier car, two laptops, three iPhones, an iPad, a memory card, a pen drive, a modem, One my Stick, two Visa cards from two banks, a gold card and two passports.

On August 31, Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Emrul Kayesh granted the actress bail in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act.

The next day Pori Moni walked out of Kashimpur Central Jail after 27 days of her arrest.

Pori Moni was arrested on August 4 following a raid by the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) at her Banani residence

A case was filed against her under the Narcotics Act the following day.
